About ND Buddy

ND Buddy is a purpose-built digital platform designed to support neurodiverse children in navigating everyday life with greater confidence, predictability and independence.

Created by a parent of an autistic child, ND Buddy understands the real-life challenges families face — from managing transitions and unexpected changes to supporting communication and emotional regulation. The app brings essential visual supports together in one accessible, easy-to-use space, reducing the need for printing, laminating and carrying multiple physical resources.

ND Buddy enables parents and caregivers to create personalised daily and weekly visual schedules, now-and-next boards, social stories, visual timers and communication supports. Visuals can be customised using familiar photos to increase engagement and understanding. Updates can be made instantly, helping families respond calmly to changing plans. It also allows for tracking of feelings and dysregulation, allowing for parents and carers to have patterns and details at hand.

The platform also supports collaboration, allowing consistency across home, school and care environments — a key factor in reducing anxiety and promoting positive outcomes.

By combining evidence-based visual strategies with digital convenience, ND Buddy reduces daily stress for families while empowering children to build independence, self-regulation and communication skills.

Designed for real life. Built for real families.

Meet Our Founder

I am Alexandra Mooney and I am the founder of ND Buddy and also the parent of a neurodiverse child. My lived experience of managing the constant production, storage and day-to-day use of traditional hard-copy visual supports highlighted just how outdated and impractical existing tools can be for modern families. Determined to find a better way, I developed ND Buddy to bring essential supports into one accessible, digital app. With an 18-year career as a data analyst, I have extensive experience analysing complex information, identifying patterns and trends, and using insight to influence decision-making. I have combined this analytical expertise with personal understanding to create practical, evidence-informed solutions for families. I am passionate about helping other parents facing similar challenges to feel more supported, empowered and confident in navigating everyday life.
